Overview of Indiana State University Online
Indiana State University, established in 1865 is located in Terre Haute, Indiana. The university offers degrees and professional development programs via distant learning.
Indiana State University, in partnership with The College Network, offers two programs which allow LPNs and RNs to complete all upper-level nursing courses and obtain a bachelor’s degree in nursing completely online. The university offers RN to BSN bachelor’s of science in nursing degree and the LPN to BSN bachelor of science in nursing degree online. Students are not required to visit the campus.
The baccalaureate track for licensed practical nurses, vocational nurses and registered nurses includes online classes and clinical experiences. The upper-level nursing courses in the LPN to BSN program can be completed online, typically taking 43 hours. The clinical courses are arranged and taken in the student’s community. The nursing RN to BS track allows students to earn up to 10 hours of credit via a professional portfolio evaluation.
Those with a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the university are eligible to take the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses.

Admissions and Financial Aid Information
In-state and out-of-state students can enroll in the nursing program. The program is designed for transfer students. The LPN to BS track is offered to licensed practical nurses and licensed vocational nurses. Some courses may be entirely satisfied by ISU departmental challenge exams as well as course equivalency exams.
Financial aid is available to those who qualify. The school also offers transfer scholarships. The school is an approved veterans benefits institution.
